The reception and services were adequate. Food quality was poor, specially fruits were of low quality and fresh juices were non-existent. TV was only of local programs. We missed the Australian open !The hotel structure can benefit from some maintenance.

Overall good but things can always be improved. For example, I am a smoker. I do understand that in restaurants you should not smoke (and I agree with it). However, it would be nice if ashtrays would be placed on outside tables, so I would not always have to ask a waiter to bring one. That is annoying when you just light up a cigaret, and then it takes 35 minutes before you get an ashtray.The only other (sort of negative) comment I would have is about the breakfast. That is only getting a rating of 2. You always have to ask for the butter. It should be standard that this is available for all guests. Also the choice of (fresh) fruit is very poor.

I stayed 11 days at Cotton Bay. I found all of the staff caring, considerate, friendly, affable and helpful. The food was excellent. In my opinion the Chefs are top class. It was the best holiday hotel stay of my life. It was for me a holiday I shall never forget. The people of Rodrigues are wonderful. Rodrigues may look small but you need a 4WD car to get around. Cotton Bay is remote so you need a car. Taxis after dark are very expensive. People go to bed at 10pm but are up at 4am. Sun sets before 6pm and its quick. Sunrise is WOW if you get up early. Any extras you buy in the hotel are much cheaper in the market. There are mosquitoes bring repellent…
