Honeymoon in Mauritius

I had gone for my honeymoon in Mauritius. The Merville Beach Hotel was a great location. The staff was very friendly and co-operative. The rooms and surroundings were very neat and clean.
The only improvement that I can think of is the food which is great if you are from America or Europe but for Indians, the food options were very limited.

I found the location of the hotel was great, it was a few min from Grand Baie, one could even walk if you were felt like it. There were taxis available just outside the hotel as well as a bus stop. We, as a family of four, stayed at the Merville Hotel in Mauritius for one week during June 2005. We had one large bedroom off the main building of the Hotel with our own bathroom & shower/toilet. Close to Grand Baie on a beautiful beach

This hotel is great for it's location: a few minutes by car from Grand Baie center and on the best beach of Grand Baie. A bus stop right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is quite old which is not very obvious in the public areas but it is in the rooms and bathrooms; however nothing can be said about the cleanliness.

I was impressed from this hotel, especially as its rated as 3-Star, in my opinion more than that. The staff was very friendly and always helpful, location great, only about 10min walk to the village, the rooms as shown in the internet (Executive Room) and quiet.
