The overall ambiance, welcoming staff and service are very good.
Rooms are nice and clean, as well as beach and beach services, pool and pool services. personnel is very kind and welcoming.
The restaurant service and food on the opposite is pretty poor, both in terms of quality and kindness of personnel and in terms of food assortment and quantity (pretty poor menu, often little quantity already over during the meals time, no fruit or raw vegetables neither at lunch nor dinner!)

This hotel is a real gem. If you are looking for a 5-star treatment for the price of a 3-star, then this is the place for you. The staff members are very friendly, and nothing seems to be a problem for them. Whatever your requirements, they will try to fulfill them the best they can. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Food is also good, and the Sandy Lane restaurant is a must. A special thank you to the restaurant manager and the French Chef, who will make the most to satisfy your gourmet desires. If you want something, do not hesitate to ask them!

Everything was great!!! people at the hotel were very kind, they made all our favors.. the food was good (except of the fact that at the breakfast there were many flies), the room was big and comfortable, the room service was very good... the only problem was that one night that it was raining a lot, the ceiling was dripping right to our bed and we couldn't sleep. :(

Mauritius Island and Veranda Pointe aux Biches Hotel were perfect... location for family holiday.
We will again make holidays in Mauritius.

The hotel is extremely nice and the staff is very friendly. The evening program is very good.
But it gets all spoiled by the miserable food...

Good hotel and the only barefoot-hotel on Mauritius. We spent one week there and enjoyed good food, a nice room with ocean view and friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast variety could and should be improved (always the same cheese and ham, juices, fruits and marmelade). Some staff members were exceptionally friendly.

It was a fine enough hotel. It was quite good for a three star hotel. The beauty parlour was superior. I had a fabulous massage there, and bought a good product recommended to me. The bar prices were high, I thought. But, all in all, a good hotel. The service was great. I was sorry to see that although there are high priced and fabulous hotels on the island, there is still much poverty. Do the hotels not pay their staff well enough to prosper a little too?

I had an unusually high invasive customs experience when I arrived that has put me off traveling in general, and most certainly, of traveling to Mauritius.

In May, we staid at the PABH for 2 week with our kids (2 years and 9 months).
The hotel is not offering many activities for adults (only a diving school visits the hotel daily) and for kids. Besides the pool and beach, there was only 1 (steep) slide. However, for us this was okay.
As the hotel is not close to a touristic village, you will need to go by buss or taxi to get some entertainement.
The food (buffet) was okay, although there was not much variety, especially if you do not like fish and chicken. If you are planning to stay often for lunch in the hotel, the 'all inclusive' option might be a good choice.
The rooms as well as the other spaces in the hotel are nicely decorated.
We advise you to use the safe in your room as money got stoolen from ours. Unfortunately, the hotel management was not really helpfull with the situation. Finally after 3 days the tourist police came to make a statement.
Furthermore we disliked that despite the sign 'please do not disturb', they still knock on your door (and our baby got awake...)
However, the staff of the restaurant was really friendly and helpfull. If we needed to know something (bustimes etc) we just asked them.
Although we have some mixed feelings about the hotel, in general we had a good stay, but I would not recommend it to people that like to go out and have activities at the hotel.

The hotel was just refurbished. It is a 3 star hotel but I would say it is definitely a 3 star superior with its elegant, tasteful deco.
Rooms are spacious, clean & bright.
The view is awesome and the gardens and pool well maintained.
The beach looked lovely but I think they covered black sand with white sand as the white sand wasn't very deep and once into the sea it turned into black mud which clouded the water
Buffet food good but not much variety.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is about 10km from Grand Baie with a bus stop and a taxi station in front of the hotel.
A free shuttle from the hotel takes you to their siser hotel in Grand Baie, hotel Veranda, for lunch or the use of water sports.
A beautiful little spa right on the beach with excellent treatments and massages.
Good value for money!
