Room smelt of damp, exposed cables in power sockets, Mould on the walls in the Bedroom, Shattered glass in shower screen, mini bar fridge smelling of mould, food was not up to a 4* standard. Chefs taking alcohol from the lunch buffet in front of guests! Bird droppings on the chairs in the restaurant and birds eating off the tables when guests had left.

We have not been informed that this part of the island is especially for surfing and skying.

really very good value for money - I also was happy that our room was ready at 09 00am....

- It was OK

Our stay was OK put not like in an 4stars hotel.
The shower was very disgusting. For dinner and lunch, there was no variety but it was OK.

I would recommend this place only for surfers they don't have too many expectations on a hotel.

Pros

The only strength we noticed was that the hotel has a very good location.

Cons

Very bad service. It takes about 20min to order drinks further on it takes 10min to get the drinks.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel but have to say that we were disappointed about the service. While the room service was very good, the staff in the restaurant was very often very slow and did not seem to be very motivated. However, the food was typically very good...

• The holidays were great but from my point of view it was not worth the money. The hotel was average and I expected a nicer hotel with a beautiful beach. May be because of the wind or the waves the beach was not really clean (sea grass etc.)... . The hotel is a mix between modern an Indian style which do not really fit with each other. Probably they have a problem with the Management - many things are not or not well organized (ex. beach towels - every second day there were not available...instead of exchanging them in the evening directly in the room everyone had to pick up them at the reception and they were always in the washing machine....)
• The food was OK but after 2 weeks buffet we had enough. It's a pity that the other 2 restaurants are not included in the price - they only offer a 10% discount which is still much too expensive.
• The sport activities are good, Tennis, surfing, table tennis, pools etc. - nothing to complain about that.
• Some of the staff was unfriendly or not really motivated to work - for the price everyone expected something different or at least a better service. There would be a great potential to improve the service and to reduce long waiting moments.

The hotel has substantially improved its rooms. Nicely renovated. The location remains fantastic. However, this year, the service has gotten terrible. Waiting for food very long times, unfriendly and untrained staff, unclean dishes. Not up to compare with previous years, and not at all up to compare with other hotels such as i.e. Le Pavillon. Once we complained, the service improved a bit, but not substantially. All in all, great rooms, great room cleaning, great hotel location, but terrible food service.

Bad service, long waiting time for orders, impolite service team, dirty equipments in restaurants, old and dirty shower. Its not a 4stars hotel anymore, a better 3-stars. Not gonna stay again in that hotel.

- Great hotel for beach & windsurfing/kitesurfing

Overall, the hotel is of a great standard, with a few problems that if overlooked, make a great stay. The food is great, beaches fantastic, pools and atmosphere wonderful. The spa is a little pricy & staff is friendly, but not passionate about their jobs. Biggest weaknesses are in the organization of the wait staff - most breakfasts went without tea/coffee service or else it was requested several times or would be served when you were almost done eating. It does appear that wait staff were unmotivated. It was obvious that management were trying to sort out issues, but more often than not, the staff fell back into old habits and routines. Housekeeping staff were very friendly & the room was always spotless. Watch out for the mini bar prices - especially if you believe it is included in the all inclusive option - it's not! Although we were upgraded to a much larger room, the downside was that we had to wedge drink coasters under the toilet pedestal & behind the toilet lid to stop the very loud "clunking" noise when in use! Basin hot water tap was so loose it was spinning around & the spout itself was crooked & spun also. If you're afraid of bathroom mould - then take the bath option! The shower silicon was super mouldy.... Biggest issue for us was not in the room, food or wait staff but a very squeaky door latch which was located on the housekeeping storage door near to our room. After a few days, we couldn't take to the noise of the door being opened at all hours, so we took to it with some vaseline to stop the noise!! At least we could sleep properly through the nights. If you can overlook some medium level issues (minor to us, but am sure some are not to others), then you'll have a fantastic stay!

Overall we enjoyed the place but when you initially book an all inclusive stay at a resort in Mauritius, you actually expect to have an incredible stay, not just an average one. We were shocked to discover that not everything is actually 'all inclusive' as they are at other resorts we've stayed at.


Having to only choose the items with a star and not ordering a certain drink for example because it is not on the 'all inclusive' list is quite annoying. The food was mostly good, well cooked and we enjoyed that but again, we were hoping to get 'excellent' food. Another thing was the activities related to water sports. When I first looked at the Indian resorts website it lead me to believe that I'd have no trouble being able to go windsurfing or surfing etc. Only after arriving did I discover that I'd have to make proper bookings and that company was actually a separate company from the Indian resort.

The Club Mistral company for whatever it was called stuffed me around a bit and I found out later that they had all these pre bookings etc and were busy and was part of the reason why I couldn't do too many activities. So, I was just disappointed because I actually chose this resort because of the water sport activities and the opportunity to go surfing in Mauritius and I only got to go once because of the company.

Finally, just one other thing, the pool was freezing and I'd expect a resort like this to have a heated pool!

Poor advertising of water activities/not enough communication with that company, something along those lines.

- You may do better


Service may be better!!! Too many people in crew, but very few of them know what they have to do and if you ask anything, the most of the people of the staff don't know what or how to do and they go to ask to another member of the crew... With time that go. Room cleaning is a "utopia". My refrigerator of the mini-bar was dirty, because opening a Pepsi bottle some was gone out (there was no bottle-opener) and it remained dirty all the days, despite every day somebody filled the missing bottles. They changed towels every day (and it was good) but wrappers that were taken to clean were never replaced; the bath was never well cleaned; they tided the bed more than one time a day but never cleaned under the bed (a tennis ball not mine under the bed was never moved or removed). Despite the spa was very well cleaned and well organized

peerless spot for kite surf and windsurf. SPA.

- A very good hotel

We had no complaints at all about this resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful; the food is varied and very tasty; and the facilities are first rate.

It is a very spread out place, so you have to be prepared for a five or ten minute walk from your room to the restaurant, and my advice would be to go all inclusive because drinks are expensive.

The beach is very good and there are plenty of water sports activities.

The only negative is that it is miles from anywhere and there's nowhere to walk to. You are pretty literally a prisoner of the hotel.

A final point: everything is priced in Euros. You don't need Mauritian rupees.

- Do not waste your money !!

Would definitely not recommend anyone to this terrible place! First, it took us like 2 hrs to check in, to fill out the forms, to be guided to our rooms. Secondly, the water in the shower was cold, and after our fourth complaint, we were told that since the central boiler is located far from our room, they cannot do anything. The remote for the TV was not working, which was changed the next day, the air conditioner was not working properly. You have to go and look for a waiter yourself to be given a drink. The worst came when checking out where we were charged for consuming items in the mini bar which we did not. We made sure not to touch anything since no price list was available in the room for items in the mini bar. After again complaining with the hotel Manager, we were told that they checked the mini bar at 10am, and at this time, we were in the room and sure that no one came in since we did put the "Do not disturb" sign outside! After almost 1.5hrs of investigation which we not over, we paid the bill and asked the manager to refund the amount back to our credit card whenever they finish with their internal investigation. Till today, not even a sign, although I did fax a letter of complaint the following day. Anyway, I do hope they use the money paid for the unused items to improve their service, to train their personnel!
