If you would like a Mauritian holiday away from the all inclusive package crowd this could be the place for you.

Les Lataniers has its own quiet beach and beautiful gardens. The rooms are colourfully decorated and ours was very spacious.
Dinner is available and taken on a long table on the veranda overlooking the sea with the other guests of all nationalities. The food is quite superb using interesting Creole recipes that caused a great deal of positive discussion amongst the French friends we made there!
Twenty is about the most guests that could be accommodated but we were usually sharing the table with a few other guests and some of the family which made a sociable and interesting evening.
Les Lataniers is situated on a stretch of beach which is is fringed with other quality private villas. There is a bus stop outside with very regular buses to Flic an Flac, Quatre Bornes (good cheap shopping) and Baie du Cap (a cheap scenic ride for about 1 euro return each!)
There is a large supermarket and a brand new rather swish shopping centre within 20 minutes walk.
All in all a very different and refreshing Mauritian experience for a lot less than most of the package tours available but with a much more exclusive and individual feel.
