"Friendly well situated hotel"
We cannot praise too highly the manager and his staff at reception. Our car broke down as we arrived at Fontevraud. The manager helped us talk to the garage (our French is limited), contacted the next hotel on our itinerary to cancel for us and thus save cancellation fees, arranged taxis for us, and found a room for us to stay two extra nights while the car was repaired.
Tip: you will never find the car park without guidance; just ask at reception and they will provide directions.
The Pros
Very pleasant hotel, with quiet rooms despite being in the center of the village; perfectly situated for visiting Fontevraud Abby and, further afield, Saumur and Chinon.
