Cannes GUIDE

Fair

Its 2° C. See all the weather details Cannes.

CannesAll the things you heard about Cannes are true, and then some. Famed for the film festival that draws a rich and famous list of visitors each year, this Côte d'Azur jewel has a character all its own. Visiting Cannes can be a surprise, even to jet set.

Movie stars and bright lights are not all Cannes has to offer. Boulevard de la Croisette ambles by one of the most picturesque beaches on the Med, a yacht haven and blond bombshell of a seaside attraction that has always attracted attention. Unlike Nice and other bustling seashore destinations along the Riviera, Cannes is a bit more cozy, shall we say? Enjoy your Gucci and Chanel here too, just not being trampled by the masses while you enjoy shopping bliss.

Cannes – Canned Riviera

CannesEverything in Cannes is like those other chic spots, only miniaturized, compartmentalized, close at hand. Here you can take in fabulous historic sites, walk 50 paces, and eat a fabulous seafood menu, walk another 100 paces, and dip you feet in the sea. Watch the old gentlemen play at boules, snap photos of Musée de la Castre, the pretty French girl passing by, even see where the legendary “Man In the Iron Mask” was imprisoned. But you get the picture, Cannes is a little sweet spot of a vacation land.

Historic, naturally beautiful, and downright fun at times, Cannes also hosts that famous film festival you heard about. And during May, no one in the city sleeps much. Aside this noted movie magic party, Cannes also hosts Midem, a noted music trade show, and Mipim, the worlds largest property-related trade event. While taking in these and other Cannes events, be sure and also visit the area’s villas, Île Sainte-Marguerite, Île Saint-Honorat, and Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Provence, among the many other things to see and do in the area.

La Croisette.Cannes is a lot of things to a lot of people actually. First and foremost though, it may be one of the world’s best places to people watch. Your chances of spotting that celebrity hero or heroine of yours here is odds on better than in Florida. Why not give Cannes a try?
