Green Key

TheGreenKey® is a diploma awarded companies within tourism. To obtain TheGreenKey the company has to fullfil a long list of environmental requirements. These requirements are contained in a number of criteria. Besides pure environmental demands, the criteria inclide demands on policy and actionplans.

GreenKey is part of Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), non-governmental organisation working towards sustainable development.

Green Globe

From Australia, The Green Globe Company Standard is designed for organisations within the travel and tourism industry and sets out the criteria to attain Certification. It provides an environmental management framework for organisations to achieve sustainability.

Eco-label

Launched in 1982 after the Rio summit, Eco-label is a european scheme on sustainable development. The European eco-label is based on the vision of greening non-food products all over Europe in a joint and common approach of all European stakeholders brought together in the European Union Eco-labelling Board.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001:2004 specifies the requirements for such an environmental management system. Fulfilling these requirements demands objective evidence which can be audited to demonstrate that the environmental management system is operating effectively in conformity to the standard.
